<title>Abstract</title> <p>Fast refresh rates in enterprise environments produce large amounts of e-waste and unverifiable Scope 3 carbon emissions in the UK. Existing processes for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) require centrally located off-site facilities and create multiple weeks’ worth of overhead along with exposure risks associated with shipping IT assets. In this paper, we propose Eco-ITAD, an automated system for evaluating the condition of hardware and carbon reduction potential using Python and Flask. Eco-ITAD checks CPU utilization, volatile memory allocation, and drive wear in less than 120 seconds. These hardware metrics are automatically translated to Scope 3 carbon avoidance using UK DEFRA guidelines. Using data sanitization according to NIST SP 800-88 along with PDF report generation in memory, the system verifies compliance instantaneously without saving customer audit logs locally on the hard drive.</p>
