📄 Abstract(原文)
The development of the global energy sector based on fossil fuels leads to a significant increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other harmful substances in the atmosphere, causing negative impacts on natural ecosystems as well as human and animal health. The second major energy-related problem is associated with the influence of fossil fuels on global climate change, which manifests itself in rising average temperatures, an increasing frequency of extreme weather events, and the degradation of natural resources. The third problem is linked to the escalation of geopolitical conflicts driven by price volatility in global energy markets and the growing vulnerability of many countries due to their dependence on imported fuels. Therefore, the transformation of the energy sector towards the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and hydrogen energy is considered a key instrument for reducing negative environmental impacts, protecting public health, mitigating climate risks, and ensuring energy security for many countries worldwide. Renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydropower, and bioenergy) enable electricity generation with minimal or zero greenhouse gas emissions. Their large-scale deployment contributes to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and enhances the energy security and stability of national energy systems. However, renewable energy alone cannot ensure a continuous supply of the required amount of energy on a daily, seasonal, or annual basis. Hydrogen energy, in turn, is regarded as a key element for integrating renewable energy sources into the energy system due to its ability to accumulate and store surplus “green” electricity during periods of excess generation and to utilize it during shortages. The synergy between renewable energy sources and hydrogen energy forms the foundation for building a climate-neutral energy system of the future, serving as one of the core instruments for decarbonizing the entire economy and a necessary condition for achieving carbon neutrality. Hydrogen, due to its high energy conversion efficiency, is a promising energy carrier. The high efficiency of hydrogen technologies determines their significant potential in modern energy systems. For Ukraine, hydrogen opens new opportunities, including the development of modern energy infrastructure, attraction of investments, job creation, strengthening of export potential, and integration into the European energy space. Moreover, the use of green hydrogen produced through electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources enables the decarbonization of economic sectors where direct electrification is technically or economically challenging.
