English

An Excel traceability matrix tracking all 1,184 ESRS datapoints across three stages: the original EFRAG IG 3 list, the simplified standards under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1563, and a public-sector adaptation. It records whether each requirement is deleted, reworded, retained, or newly added, and assigns 'S-' identifiers to the 390 requirements carried into the public-sector model. Intended for researchers, public entities, and reporting-tool developers.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

This matrix maps the EU's simplification of ESRS and its extension to the public sector, offering a granular view of how disclosure requirements evolve under regulatory revision. It is directly relevant to global debates on ISSB-ESRS interoperability, proportionality, and the scope of CSRD beyond private companies.

📄 Abstract(原文)

[EN] CSRD/ESRS Traceability matrix developed as part of a doctoral thesis on the application of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) to the public sector. The matrix follows each requirement along a three-stage path. It starts from the 1,184 datapoints of the original ESRS set out in the EFRAG IG 3 implementation list, as implemented in the CSRD reporting template of Microsoft Sustainability Manager. It continues with the simplified version of the standards, adopted by the European Commission through Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1563 of 3 July 2026. It ends with a formulation adapted to public sector entities. The Excel workbook contains eleven worksheets, one per standard (ESRS 2, E1 to E5, S1 to S4 and G1). For every original requirement, the matrix records what happens to it in the simplified version: whether it is deleted, reworded, retained or introduced as a new requirement, with a reference to the paragraph of the simplified standard. It also records the treatment it receives when transferred to the public sector, either direct transfer or adaptation, and the wording proposed for the public sector model. Each adapted requirement receives a new identifier with the prefix "S-", so it can be cited unambiguously. Below each requirement, its application requirements are also given with their adapted wording. Of the 1,184 original codes, 868 are deleted in the simplified version, 165 are reworded and 151 are retained. In addition, the simplified version introduces 74 new requirements. The 390 requirements carried over to the public sector model receive an S- identifier: 227 through direct transfer and 163 through adaptation. This dataset underpins two other published resources: the Sustainability reporting model for the public sector, NEIS-SP ( https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23041614 ), and the Matrix of change recommendations applicable to Microsoft Sustainability Manager ( https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23041116 ). Both link to this matrix through the S- identifiers. The dataset is intended for other researchers, for public entities assessing the adoption of the ESRS and for developers of sustainability reporting tools. The matrix reflects the author's interpretation and is not an official document of EFRAG, the European Commission or Microsoft. The upload includes a README in Spanish and English.
