English
Combining World Bank country indicators with IMF bilateral portfolio positions (2010–2022), this study examines how income-adjusting sovereign ESG scores reshapes country rankings, investment eligibility and cross-border holdings concentration. It compares raw, income-adjusted and recent-progress scores, and tests how selecting 10–50 countries alters retained holdings. The repository provides frozen datasets, code, model estimates and figures for full reproduction.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters
In the global GX context
Sovereign ESG scoring is central to global fixed-income ESG integration and the debate over income bias in ratings. This work speaks to how index providers and investors construct sovereign ESG screens, relevant to TCFD/ISSB-adjacent disclosure and transition finance allocation across borders.

📄 Abstract(原文)
This repository provides the data, code and supporting materials for a study of how adjusting sovereign environmental, social and governance (ESG) scores for national income changes country rankings, investment eligibility and the concentration of cross-border portfolio holdings. The study combines publicly available World Bank country indicators with International Monetary Fund bilateral portfolio investment positions. The holdings analysis covers 2010–2022. A separate country-selection exercise applies 2021 ESG scores to 2022 holdings across 98 eligible countries. The materials include frozen source datasets, variable definitions, country-code crosswalks, data-processing documentation, ESG score calculations, statistical analysis scripts, model estimates, robustness checks and figure files. The analysis compares raw ESG scores, income-adjusted scores and recent ESG progress. It also examines how selecting between 10 and 50 countries changes retained holdings and concentration, alongside leave-one-country-out checks. The repository supports verification and reproduction of the study’s results. Portfolio positions represent reported holdings rather than investment flows, returns or investments by funds with identified ESG mandates. The findings describe statistical relationships and country-selection outcomes; they do not establish causal effects. The compact download contains the core data, code, results and PNG/SVG figures. The complete research package additionally includes the manuscript, archived source materials and further figure formats. Reproduction instructions are provided in the README file
