📄 Abstract（原文）
Green finance is exceptionally helpful in supporting the efforts to decrease the pollution, increase the development of clean energy and improve the quality of the life. Green finance is an important financial tool which has captured the interest of global policymakers due to its tendency to influence firms to engage in meaningful actions towards sustainable engagements especially in implementing clean energy technologies and environmentally sustainable investments. The proposed study will link the knowledge gap by investigating how corporate green investments and the creation of the Green Finance Reform and Innovation Pilot Zones (GFRIPZ) are related to one another. With the help of Difference-in-Differences identification method, we can give solid evidence that GFRIPZ is effective in stimulating corporate green efforts including investments in clean energy, and environmentally sustainable projects and that the effect is also continuous under various robustness tests. In addition, we discuss three possible mechanisms that could be used to explain this positive effect: the structure of external financing, corporate environmental responsibility, and government concerning sustainability and clean energy transition. The policy has stricter financial restrictions on high-polluting enterprises (HPEs) because it restricts their access to external financing opportunities, but it increases financing opportunities available to non-high-polluting firms to finance green and clean energy related investments. The next advantage of GFRIPZ is that the project raises the corporate awareness of the problems of sustainability and clean energy and improves governmental focus on environmental management and regulation implementation. In addition, our findings indicate that the effect of GFRIPZ is smaller on firms already having well-established environmental governance systems but higher on high-polluting enterprises and state-owned firms. In general, this paper highlighted the role of green finance policies in shaping corporate investment practices and specifically in development the use of clean energy and sustainable development.
