📄 Abstract(原文)

Sustainable investment has emerged as a crucial mechanism for economic diversification and environmental conservation, aligning with the long-term objectives of Oman Vision 2040. This study explores the role of green finance, ESG integration, renewable energy projects, regulatory frameworks, and corporate sustainability in fostering a resilient and diversified economy in Oman. Through the development of the Oman Sustainable Investment Framework (OSIF), the study provides a structured approach to channeling capital into sustainable projects that support socioeconomic development and ecological balance. The research highlights that while green finance and ESG adoption are gaining traction in Oman, policy incentives and investor awareness programs are necessary to enhance participation. Investment in renewable energy projects, such as the Ibri II Solar Plant and Miraah Solar Thermal Project, demonstrates Oman’s commitment to sustainability, yet high capital costs and limited financing mechanisms present challenges. The regulatory environment, including the Muscat Stock Exchange’s ESG initiatives and Oman’s Sustainable Finance Framework, reflects a growing commitment to sustainable investing; however, gaps in enforcement and SME inclusion remain critical obstacles. The findings suggest that corporate sustainability efforts and stronger policy interventions can significantly enhance the effectiveness of sustainable investment strategies. The OSIF model offers recommendations such as strengthening ESG policies, encouraging corporate sustainability reporting, and fostering financial innovation to accelerate Oman’s transition towards a sustainable economy. The study concludes that while Oman has made substantial progress, further research on sector-specific investment opportunities, investor behavior, and long-term impacts of green finance is essential for achieving the full potential of sustainable investment in Oman Vision 2040.
