デジタル化の文脈におけるESG報告のデジタル成熟度評価

本研究はESG報告のデジタル化を「デジタル成熟度」の観点から分析し、定量評価指標DERMI（Digital ESG Reporting Maturity Index）を開発した。フォーマットと機械可読性、ESRS準拠の構造化、定量的開示度、目標設定、トレーサビリティと外部保証の5次元で構成される。ESG報告書サンプルへの適用の結果、成熟度は中程度で観測間のばらつきが大きいことが示された。デジタル化は技術導入だけでなく、データ構造化・定量開示・統制・外部保証の仕組みと結びついている。

This study assesses the digital maturity of ESG reporting and develops the Digital ESG Reporting Maturity Index (DERMI), covering five dimensions: format and machine readability, ESRS structuring, quantitative disclosure, targets, and traceability/external assurance. Testing on a sample of ESG reports reveals moderate maturity with significant variability. Digitalization is found to depend not only on technology adoption but also on data structuring, quantitative disclosure, and control/assurance mechanisms.

SSBJ基準・有報でのサステナビリティ開示が進む日本では、ESG情報のXBRL化・機械可読性・保証体制の整備が急務であり、DERMIは企業の開示デジタル化度を自己評価する実務的枠組みとして参考になる。EUのESRS準拠を軸としている点は、SSBJとESRSの相互運用性を考える上でも示唆に富む。

As global disclosure frameworks (ISSB, CSRD/ESRS, SEC climate) push toward structured, machine-readable, and assured ESG data, DERMI offers a concrete maturity metric that bridges disclosure infrastructure and digitalization. It contributes to the emerging scholarship on the quality and comparability of digital ESG reporting, relevant to regulators and standard-setters designing digital taxonomies.
