📄 Abstract（原文）
The article presents an empirical study of the influence of ESG factors on the investment potential of mineral resource companies in Russia. Based on the analysis of reporting and ratings of three largest companies – Nornickel, ALROSA, and Surgutneftegaz – a system of sectoral ESG metrics is proposed and their relationship with the cost of capital is assessed. Unlike previous works, the article establishes a link between the ESG transformation of corporations and the stability of regional oil and gas revenues, which creates conditions for structural transformations of regional economies. The results can be used by regional authorities in assessing the tax potential of territories where MRC companies operate, as well as by investors in accounting for non-financial risks.
