📄 Abstract(原文)

Sustainability in agriculture has in recent years moved from being an option to becoming a condition of survival, because climate risks, input price volatility, more demanding consumers, and stricter market requirements increasingly determine who can maintain stable production and income. In that context, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles represent a practical framework that connects resource management, relations with employees and the community, and the quality of corporate governance with measurable business results. The aim of this paper is to explain how a sustainable strategy based on ESG principles can build long-term competitive advantage in agriculture - through risk reduction, greater efficiency, access to incentives and capital, a better position in value chains, and product differentiation. The paper relies on desk research and the analysis of secondary sources, with an emphasis on reporting standards and policies that shape practices in the sector (e.g., GRI, IFRS/ISSB, and instruments of the EU Common Agricultural Policy). It is concluded that the ESG approach is not merely formal reporting, but a way of management that - if integrated into strategy - increases the resilience of farms and enterprises, facilitates compliance with regulation, and raises the capacity for innovation, which together leads to long-term competitiveness.
